Photography I
Photography I introduces students to the creative aspects of black and white photography. The first semester is spent teaching students to manipulate the basic functions of 35 mm manual cameras and how to properly develop film. In the darkroom students learn how to make prints that contain good tonal range and expressive qualities. The second semester is devoted to building and exposing pinhole cameras, hand coloring and digital coloring of black and white photographs and bleaching and toning prints.
Photography II
The aim of the Photography II is to introduce students to the great variety of approaches to photography and to help them discover their own photographic interests and vision. Students continue to photograph, refine black and white darkroom techniques, and explore advanced darkroom procedures. In addition, students are introduced to both traditional and contemporary photographic methods.
