Part-Time Sailing Instructor, Fall 2010

Commonwealth School seeks a sailing coach for the fall 2010 season (Sept. and Oct.) with a valid US SAILING Level 1 Instructor certification. Commonwealth School is a recreational/instructional member of the Massachusetts Bay League and uses the facilities at Community Boating in Boston, MA for sailing lessons. Commonwealth School’s sailing program is offered only during the fall season for recreation and instruction; the purpose of the program is to teach students the basic fundamentals and technical skills of sailing. The coach will provide instruction to 8-10 students at Community Boating on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons during the fall season; sessions run from 3 to 5 pm.  

Sailing will be held on the following dates:  
SEPTEMBER: 13, 15, 20, 22, 29  
OCTOBER: 1, 4, 6, 8, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29

Compensation

$65 per two-hour session

Job Requirements

A valid US SAILING Level 1 Instructor certification is required. Experience working with teenagers is strongly desired.

Michael Dukakis was the governor of Massachusetts from 1975 to 1979 and again from 1983 to 1991. He was the 1988 Democratic nominee for president. Since his departure from elected office, Dukakis has remained active in public life, joining the faculty of Northeastern University and teaching at other universities. He is also a well-known proponent of mass transit.
