Diversity Committee

Commonwealth's Diversity Committee discusses issues related to culture and ethnicity inside and outside the School. This group of about 25 students also organizes the annual Diversity Day, an all-school event. For more information, contact Diversity Director Lihuan Lai.

2010 Diversity Potluck

To cap off this year’s Diversity Week, the Diversity Committee invites those in the school community to contribute a dish typical of his or her traditions and/or culture. Some of last year’s dishes included Cape Verdean rice and beans, chicken gumbo, fatayer (Lebanese lamb pie), mizeria (Polish salad), Algerian chicken tagine, and Swedish meatballs. The School will provide salad and drinks.

If you would like to contribute food and/or attend the lunch, please contact Lihuan Lai by April 23. For health reasons, food must be labeled, so we will need the list of ingredients. We hope that you will send the recipe, which will be added to the list below.

Last year’s potluck was a fabulous feast that opened our palates and eyes to a variety of food that we otherwise would not have experienced. Let’s make it happen again this year!

Time: 12:30 p.m. Please bring your dish(es) to school no later than 11:30 a.m.
