Commonwealth has a long tradition of student-run clubs and teams. They always enrich the atmosphere of social and community engagement at the School; occasionally they effect more substantial change in how the School operates.These activities vary from year to year depending on the interest of students.
Some clubs and teams include:
Diversity Committee, which discusses issues related to culture and ethnicity inside and outside the School. This group of about 25 students also organizes the annual Diversity Day, an all-school event with speakers, workshops, and discussion.
Environmental Club, which initiated and oversees the School's recycling and composting program.
Chess Club, winner of the 2008 Hurvitz Cup, the Massachusetts State Scholastic Team Championship.
