Other Library Catalogs

Boston Public Library

The BPL is located two blocks from Commonwealth, and many students find it an invaluable research resource. You can access its catalog here. Additionally, you can access the Commonwealth Catalog (not to be confused with the Commonwealth School Catalog!) using your BPL account and search for hard-to-find books in libraries across the state.

Boston Athenaeum

Please see Ms. Johnson for more information about using the Athenaeum. The library uses both the Library of Congress system and the retired Cutter Classification System.

College Libraries

Below are the visiting policies for academic libraries in the Boston area. Please speak to Ms. Johnson if you would like to gain access to one of these libraries. You may not be able to check out books, but you can still research and look at their materials.

Public Library Networks

Regional libraries operate within networks that are arranged by location. The libraries in the metro west area of Boston, for example, use the Minuteman Library Network.

WorldCat lets you search the collections of libraries in your community and thousands more around the world. Using your IP address WorldCat will list what public or college libraries have the resource you need. You can search using the box below:
