Visit Us
Our building, an architectural gem in Boston's Back Bay, feels something like a college and something like a home. After applying, prospective students and their parents/guardians are welcome to join us for an in-person visit. If you have yet to apply, you can experience what it’s like to be a member of the Commonwealth community through a virtual tour or an admissions event.
Visit in Person
We can’t wait to welcome you! An in-person visit typically includes a tour of our building, sitting in on a few classes, and attending our daily all-school meeting ("recess"), all led by one of our friendly student ambassadors. Because the in-person visit is a formal part of our application process, you must submit your application form before scheduling it.
Attend an Admissions Event
From Virtual Open Houses to online sessions with other local independent schools, our admissions events provide ideal opportunities to preview the Commonwealth experience, connect with current students and families, get answers to your questions, and more. We sincerely hope you’ll join us for one!
I chose to come [to Commonwealth] because it seemed like the people and the culture were both enthusiastically academic and genuinely kind. During my time here, I discovered my initial impression wasn't wrong.
Take a Virtual Tour
With sun-filled art studios and cathedral ceilings, modern science labs, and cozy study spots, our building—a classic Boston brownstone in the Back Bay—feels collegial. And like home. You can explore every classroom and student space through our virtual tour.
Scavenger Hunt
As you venture around our virtual building, see if you can spot:
- Pomegranates on a ceiling
- A translucent mermaid
- Nine skylights
- Thirteen fireplaces
- A mural painted on a wall
- A pool cue in a stair railing
Experience Commonwealth
You can connect with Commonwealth on your own time: sit in on sample classes, spend some time in students' shoes, and get to know our teachers.
