Alumni/ae Association

All Commonwealth alumni/ae are members of the Commonwealth School Alumni/ae Association and invited to join our CWSAA meetings, held quarterly during the academic year. The CWSAA working group, led by co-presidents Rachel Salzman '87 and Isaac Slavitt '04, connects fellow alumni/ae and facilitates meaningful opportunities to engage with the school community.

What Do CWSAA Meetings Entail?

Held in person at Commonwealth, with the option of joining virtually, a given alumni/ae association meeting might include a variety of planning, educational, and social activities. Recent examples include:

  • Hearing Commonwealth teachers share their pedagogical insights, like Don Conolly discussing his Mesoamerica class or Rikita Tyson explaining how she chooses books for her English courses
  • Brainstorming ways of strengthening Commonwealth's alumni/ae network and resources for students via Commonwealth Connect
  • Gleaning the latest news and asking questions of faculty and staff like Head of School Jennifer Borman '81, Director of Athletics Jackson Elliott '10, and History and City of Boston teacher Melissa Glenn Haber '87
  • Exploring how alumni/ae mentors can help spur student exploration and discovery during Project Week
  • And, of course, reconnecting with fellow alums over appetizers, beer, and wine
