Directions

Commonwealth School is located at 151 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, MA (02116). Visitors, please ring the bell to the right of the front door. Once inside, look to the left and check in with a member of our front office team, who will be glad to assist you.

By Public Transportation:

Commonwealth is easily accessible by subway and a number of local MBTA bus lines. We are just two blocks from the Copley T stop (on the Green Line) and five blocks from Back Bay (on the Orange Line). From either station, walk directly down Dartmouth Street towards the Charles River. You will find us at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue.

By Car:

If possible, we suggest taking public transportation. Commonwealth does not have a parking lot and parking is somewhat limited in the Back Bay. If you drive, you will want to allow extra time to secure a spot. Please note, if you use Google Maps to find us, make sure you’re heading to Boston (there is another 151 Commonwealth Avenue in Chestnut Hill).

You may find metered street parking on Newbury Street, Beacon Street, and side streets like Clarendon and Dartmouth. Payment options include quarters, credit cards, and the ParkBoston app. Please check any signs to make sure you are not in a resident-only space. You can also park at a local garage: Back Bay Garage at 500 Boylston Street, Clarendon Garage at 100 Clarendon Street, and Dartmouth Street Garage at 126 Dartmouth Street are all a short distance away.
