Cross Country Team Kicks Off Season With Promising Finishes

Commonwealth's Varsity Cross Country team competed in its first virtual meet on Wednesday, October 7, against Salem Academy Charter School. It was a 2.8 mile race, which was run simultaneously at separate locations. The Commonwealth team ran along the Charles River Esplanade.

While Salem won the meet overall, Commonwealth's four runners all finished strongly and kept the race competitive. Kendall Brainin '23 took the overall individual win, with a time of 22.18, in her first-ever cross country race. Will Du '23 finished fifth overall while Kendall's brother Charles Brainin '23 added an additional top ten finish. Freshman Aaron Li also scored points for the team in his first-ever race.

Coach John Wolff noted the excitement of being able to get out there and compete again, especially with a lot of new and young talent on the team.
