Class of 2018 Parent Gift
Mary P. Chatfield Cultural Scholarship Fund
This year, we want to honor Commonwealth with a gift from the senior parents to the Mary P. Chatfield Cultural Scholarship Fund. This vital fund provides grants for immersive student travel experiences during Project Week, Senior Projects, and the spring and summer cultural exchanges. The Fund ensures that these important opportunities are available to all students.
These grants have a significant impact on the students they support.
One student remarked: “ The time I spent in France was life changing, exposing me not only to the quotidian life of France, but an altogether different idea of the purpose of living. Having been brought up in New England, I had always had the classic American Dream way of life ingrained in my goals and aspirations, but experiencing the French food, history, family life, and social dynamic gave me a new perspective on how I want to live my life.”
Another said: “The twelve days that I spent in Spain with my classmates and teachers were the best, most fun-filled twelve days of my life. My experience being in Spain, immersed in the Spanish culture and language, opened my eyes to the beauty of it all.”
Our goal is to raise $50,000, which will provide grants to at least 15 students.
